As we come to a very exciting point in this project, we need your views – and the views of the whole community – on a very important decision for us to make.
Across the past 12 months, our property team have considered dozens of potential sites and visited 6-8 of them. In each case they have been looking carefully at the balance between many different aspects – natural environment, transport links, land size, accommodation, location and price – that are all important for our community.
Our area of active search has focused exclusively on the geographical centre of the UK. Many people have also written to us with proposals outside of this area, and we have only considered these if the other characteristics appear to be especially positive, and if transport links still make the centre accessible.
In recent weeks, the property team have recommended that the trustees consider one of these sites as a serious prospect, due to a very unexpected combination of positive factors. The trustees have now asked us to share this prospect with you and to invite your feedback, to help them decide whether or not to move forwards with this possibility.
We have created a short video briefing to give you an overview of this site, together with a survey for you to share your responses. We deeply appreciate you offering your time to watch this video and to share your thoughts, reflections and aspirations with us on the survey link here.
The choice of site for the Being Peace centre is one of the most important decisions that our community will make. We deeply appreciate you offering your own contribution to the collective insight, and helping us to move forwards as wisely as possible.
The survey will remain open until the end of Sunday 17th November, so please share this news as widely as you can – within your sangha meetings, newsletters, WhatsApp groups or however you connect to other members of our community – so that we can benefit from as many reflections and insights as possible.
We look forward to sharing the results with you in the following weeks, and continuing to explore what may happen next on our collective journey together.
With a deep bow to you all,
The Being Peace Practice Centre Team
