Welcome to the final month of our public fundraising campaign for Being Peace!

Since the start of the campaign in April, we have…

  • Recorded nearly a thousand donations, from over 30 countries
  • Reached thousands of people who did not previously know about the Being Peace project
  • Received hundreds of thousands of pounds in fresh funds for the project in the form of donations, friendly loans and pledges, as well as deeply touching support through people choosing to leave legacies

If you have already contributed to the campaign, thank you so much!  Whether you have given £10, or £10k, every single contribution is helping the Being Peace Centre to come one step closer.  Please do consider how you can spread the word further during this final, crucial, month, or if there are any other steps that would be a fit for you on our “How Can I Help?” page.

A crucial final month

If you are yet to donate, please consider this month as a huge opportunity.  While your support at any time helps this project, it is this month that will set the budget for the property and implementation teams to work with, and will tell us the quality and accessibility of the land that Being Peace will be based on.  And – due to a generous supporter – all donations throughout this 6-month campaign are now being matched, doubling their impact!

Consider a pledge, friendly loan or legacy

Even if you wish to delay contributing until you know the final site location, it would be incredibly helpful for us to know if you might consider making a conditional pledge or friendly loan so that we can know the site options that are within our financial reach.  We know that large financial contributions are not an option for most people in our sangha, but for the fortunate who are in a position to support in this way, one hundred people offering interest-free loans of £10k, or twenty people loaning £50k, would add £1m of resources to the project and we would reach our target.  We have also been immensely touched to receive the support of those who wish to leave a legacy to the project, as explained by Marcus here, for a gift that truly passes down the generations.

If any of these options might be a possibility for you, please contact us at any time through the website or by email at fundraising@plumvillage.uk.

All support matters

And finally – please do not think that any donation is too small.  Every single contribution puts another glowing blue dot on our global support map, helping some of our potential major funders to see just how much the community values and supports this project, and also shows all of us how our individual drops of water can combine to create a river of peace flowing into the world.

Thank you so much for being with us all on this journey, and stay tuned for an exciting final month together of this campaign!

Warmly,

Nick Kenrick

Project Director for Being Peace
